Avalon is a full-service Internet service provider based in Iowa City. We offer dial-up Internet service in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Sioux City, Waterloo, and Williamsburg. We offer xDSL internet services throughout Iowa and in Omaha, NE. Avalon Networks is connected to the Internet via multiple redundant T-1 and DS-3 links to provide maximum reliability to our customers.All Avalon Dialup accounts include:
- 33.6 and 56K-X2/V.90 dialup access
- PPP for full Internet connectivity
- Unix shell account on an HP PA-RISC system with a 30 meg disk quota
- Email using either POPmail, pine, or elm
- Your own webpage, for personal or small business use
- Full MCI newsfeed--thousands of uncensored USENET groups
- A free starter package for Win3.1, Win95, or MacOS (software is included if not already included with your system)
- Additional email accounts for family members at no extra charge

To signup in Iowa City, come into our office at 389 E. College, located in the apartment building on the corner of College and Gilbert (on the Gilbert side of the building). For customers in Sioux City, Waterloo, Williamsburg, Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, just give us a call, and sign up for an account on the telephone.
Payment plans: 1) monthly invoice (check/cash payments), 2) credit card billing, 3) automatic clearing house (ACH) withdrawal from your checking or savings account. To download the required ACH signature form, click here.

ADSL, SDSL, and IDSL high-speed access to your home or office, offering transfer rates exceeding 1 Mbps (comparable to T1 speeds), is available statewide in Iowa and in Omaha, NE.
