It then tries to copy itself to Microsoft IIS web servers. The virus seems to be attacking security holes in Internet Explorer 5 and Outlook/Outlook Express software. Probably best to not use these programs until a new patch is released. See Symantec or Newsbytes for details. Billing ChangesWed Aug 1, 2001In order to avoid increasing our service rates, we will be moving away from mailing paper invoices each month. It is critical that if you are not using your email address at avalon.net, you must send us an email address to which we can forward your monthly email invoice. For those of you needing invoices as receipts, the email invoices will be printable. If you would still like to receive a paper invoice, there will be a monthly fee of $1.00 added to your current rate. Please contact the office and someone in the billing department will be happy to make those arrangements. Please remember that billing can also be done via Visa, Master Charge, Discovery or automatic withdrawal from a checking or savings account. Contact the office if you would like to change your method of payment. We are hoping to accomplish this within the next couple months; details will be updated here as available, and we will email you when we are ready to make the switch. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause and your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Changing Modem PoolsMon Sept 10, 2001While upgrading our modem lines in Iowa City, we have moved some of the lines between modem pools. The 338-3068 will slowly be phased out as we add more connectivity to our 56k pool. Currently 338-3068 is still operational but 338-3842 is no longer accessable. -Avalon Technical Support Williamsburg OutageThu Aug 9, 2001It appears that our Williamsburg modem pool was struck by a power outage earlier this evening.
