1.Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel. Double click on Network and Dial-up Connections.
2.Double click on Make New Connection.
Click Next.
Make sure " Dial-up to Private Network" is selected and click Next.
3.Enter one of the Avalon Dial-up phone numbers from below:

4. After entering a phone number, click Next.
5. Click Next again.
6. For the name of the connection, type: "Avalon" then click Finish.
7. Enter your Avalon Username (lowercase) and password. Click on Properties.
8. Click on the Networking tab. "Type of dial-up server" should be set to PPP.....
9. Under "Components checked are used by this connection"
Uncheck all the choices except Internet Protocol TCP/IP should be checked.
Highlight (click) TCP/IP and click on Properties.
10. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window:
Select "Obtain an IP address automatically"
Select "Use the following DNS server addresses"
In "Preferred DNS server" type: 204.71.106.8
In "Alternate DNS server" type: 204.71.106.2
11. Click "Advanced" at the bottom.
Under the General tab select BOTH "Use default gateway on remote network" and "Use IP header compression"
Click on the WINS tab and UNCHECK "Enable LMHosts Lookup"
Click OK three times (until you return to the login window)
12. At the screen with your login name and password click cancel. You don't need to connect just yet.
Click on Start -> Settings ->Network and Dial-up Connections.
Right click on the new Avalon icon and choose create shortcut. Click yes.
Exit this window (click on the little black X in the upper right corner of the window)
To avoid confusion, delete the "Connect to Internet" icon. Right click on it and choose delete .
You are now ready to connect to the internet. To connect, simply click on the shortcut to Avalon. Make sure your Username is correct and enter your password. Just click Dial. Next you should see a small box that tells your connection speed, and time connected.

"Start"-->"Programs"--> "Accessories"-->"Internet Tools." Other web browsers,
such as Netscape, can be found on our webpage (www.avalon.net) in the "Software" section. If you
can't find a browser, contact Technical Support.
When you launch the browser you should see the "Start Page" (or Home Page). You can specify what
you want your start/home page to be. For Internet Explorer, this setting is in "View"-->"Options"
(or Internet Options). For Netscape, the start/home page setting is located in
"Options"-->"General preferences" or "Edit"-->"Preferences" (under
"Navigation"). To visit a website, type in the web address in the Location (or Address, or Go to:)
space on your browser and press return.
To visit the Avalon web site, type "www.avalon.net" in the location bar and press return. If you want
to search the web, the browser has a "search" option on it that will take you to a few standard search
engines. For more search engine sites and other interesting web sites, visit the "Links" section on
www.avalon.net.
Instructions for setting up email are available at the Avalon Networks home page. Load our webpage
in your browser and go to the "Support" section. Select the "Configuring your email software" link.
Here you'll find instructions for setting up many of the common email programs.
When you are finished you can close your web browser or email software. Click on the connection
icon (2 computer monitors) in the lower right, next to the clock. Choose Disconnect.
