I'm connected...what happens next?

Locate your web browser. Windows usually comes with some version of Internet Explorer

(a popular web browser). This will either be located in "Start"-->"Programs" or

"Start"-->"Programs"--> "Accessories"-->"Internet Tools." Other web browsers,

such as Netscape, can be found on our webpage (www.avalon.net) in the "Software" section. If you

can't find a browser, contact Technical Support.

Start Page

When you launch the browser you should see the "Start Page" (or Home Page). You can specify what

you want your start/home page to be. For Internet Explorer, this setting is in "View"-->"Options"

(or Internet Options). For Netscape, the start/home page setting is located in

"Options"-->"General preferences" or "Edit"-->"Preferences" (under

"Navigation"). To visit a website, type in the web address in the Location (or Address, or Go to:)

space on your browser and press return.

To visit the Avalon web site, type "www.avalon.net" in the location bar and press return. If you want

to search the web, the browser has a "search" option on it that will take you to a few standard search

engines. For more search engine sites and other interesting web sites, visit the "Links" section on

www.avalon.net.

What about email?

Instructions for setting up email are available at the Avalon Networks home page. Load our webpage

in your browser and go to the "Support" section. Select the "Configuring your email software" link.

Here you'll find instructions for setting up many of the common email programs.

To Disconnect:

When you are finished you can close your web browser or email software. Click on the connection

icon (2 computer monitors) in the lower right, next to the clock. Choose Disconnect.
