NINE (OR SO) JEDI IN THE AMBER SYSTEM

To become a Jedi, one must learn to channel the Force and live one's life in accordance to a code of ethics. The Jedi Code is the most difficult aspect to master, as it requires a lifetime, or several, to perfect.

Not all Force Users are true or noble Jedi. Dark Jedi are those who have been trained in the Force, but who have their own rebellious code to follow that is generally anti-Republic or anti-Jedi and are by and large regarded as criminals at best. Rogue Jedi are Jedi who adhere to the spirit of the Code, but vary greatly on the letter of the Code, often removing themselves from the hierarchy of the Order through self-imposed exile from, or through leading a double-life within, the Republic. THE BLASTERS OF NEW AVALON

Blasters are hi-powered energy weapons that seem to be able to work throughout Shadow, and in Primal Realms, such as Pariz and Amber. Corwin constructs these remarkable weapons near his capitol city of New Avalon (not to be confused with the Shadow Avalon), of Pariz (Shadow System Pariz). He has yet to reveal the exact location, perhaps for the safety of the New Republic. Only certified individuals may carry and use these deadly weapons legally. Illegal use is heavily prosecuted by the Republic's and by Corwin's laws. Most armies rely on archaic weapons such as gunpowder, chemical warfare, and swords. However, both the Republic's peacekeeping military and Amber's military are well-equipped with the latest in blaster technology. [top]

SIGN OF THE CHOSEN ONE

It is believed by the Jedi that every so often a very powerful Force user is born who tips the balance of destiny. Master Dworkin believes that there is another such child awaiting instruction. Many of the other Jedi believe Dworkin is living in fantasy rather than reality since he has yet to produce any facts to support this ancient prophecy. However, it is believed that Master Dworkin was in pursuit of the Chosen One when he went missing. [top]

THE HAND OF CORUSCANT

An accidental discovery in Tir-na Nog'th led to a technological catalyst in Amber and throughout the Shadow Republic. The mines of Tir-na Nog'th hold a metal that conducts Spark, an energy similar to electricity of Shadow Earth, though more potent and found throughout Shadow. Spark was discovered by Professor Denell Coruscant of Amber University. The combination of Spark and components made from Tir-na Nog'th metal has led to the creation of droids, speeders, shadowships, and even Jedi lightsabers. Patternsabers seem to operate off of a Pattern signature. [top]

THE COURTS OF THE SITH

Legends say that a terrible darkness will overshadow order and light. This darkness is called the Sith. Long ago the Sith was put down by the Lords of Chaos in a bloody war, or so the legends go. [top]

TRUMPNET OF DOOM

Someone has hi-jacked TrumpNet. Its programmable index databanks are proving unreliable, forcing users to communicate via unstable platforms and interrupting standard communication methods throughout the Republic. Technicians responsible for the implementation of the system have all either been killed or have mysteriously disappeared. Senators who are against Amber's control demand that Amber make TrumpNet technology open for Republic-member use and research. [top]

BLOODLINES OF AMBER

The masquerade is at risk. The descendants of the Amber Royal family are being sought out by various factions, each hoping to gain the upper hand for determining the fate of the Multiverse. If Amber Family cannot be recruited, then they are often detained or eliminated by players in the Great Game that threatens to rip the Multiverse apart. [top]

SIGN OF THE SERPENT

The Chaos Lords in exile have been gathering forces through alliances with alien worlds, rebuilding their holdings in the vastness beyond the Rim. Rumors of a new leader stepping forward to take back the Chaos Holy Shadowlands are circulating through the Republic, spreading fear in the hearts of Senators who either actively participated in the Fall of Chaos or chose not to intervene when given the opportunity. It is said that the restless spirit of Chaos moves with them, building slowly into what might one day be an uncontrolable storm that will erradicate the Republic once and for all. [top]

PRINCE OF THE OUTER RIM

There is one who has proven himself worthy of respect beyond the Republic. It is he who administers the greatest opposition to Republic rule. It is he who many within the Republic fear most, for he brings the threat of revolution. It is widely believed that this Prince has the means and the will to challenge all in his way, including the Republic, and even Amber itself. [top]
