Fuel Cell Installation
| Here's sort of a 3D view of my Jaz 16 gallon fuel cell. It has a sending unit that connects to an Autometer fuel level gauge, as well as a tip-over valve. I've read (since I put in the circular vent line) that with the tip-over valve it isn't necessary. I may change the vent line to create a bit more access in the trunk. | |
| As can be seen from the pictures above and below, steel 1" square tubing was welded into the spare tire well with dimensions that were appropriate for the fore-aft dimension of the 16 gallon Jaz cell. One-inch wide, 1/8" thick mild steel straps were then bent that fit both under and over the cell, basically clamping it in place. | |
| Dual #8 outlets, with shutoff valves were installed at the rear of the cell to handle fuel supply to the blue Holley pumps. | |
| The view of the outlets from under the car shows the panel that was fabricated to cover the hole in the rear of the spare tire well. Think I used enough bolts and nuts to fasten it??? LOL | |
| One of the benefits of using the fuel cell is that, after removing the stock right-hand offset fuel tank, I had more than sufficient space in which to route my three-inch tail pipes. |
